GAINING!!!

Hi everyone we have some good news!!! Olivia is finally over 6 pounds. She was almost 6 1/2 on the scale before she blewout her diaper. Although I am still cover in puke all day, she is keeping more food down. Next to Jack she looks pint size but she is growing! Jack is growing like a weed. He has a very nice double chin...oh so cute!

Another week gone and we are all in one piece!

Another busy week has passed! Olivia is doing a little better. The medication seems to be helping. She is keeping down a lot more of her feedings...yippie. We have another weight check on Monday. Jack is doing great. He is already working on smiling! He seems to be fat and happy!

I have managed two dance classes, two soccer games and the grocery store so far...Each day that passes I feel a little more like super woman. Now I just need my cape!

Twin Update

Olivia had her first doctors appointment yesterday and my fears of her lack of weight gain were confirmed. She has not gained any weight since being released from the hospital last thursday. We are trying some reflux medication for her and trying more frequent feedings. After a rough night she kept two of her feedings down. That is better than the night before, but not enough to keep her out of the hospital. We are going back to the doctor tomorrow to see if she has gained. If she has not gained any weight she will be going back to the hospital for more analysis.

We will update the blog when we get some news...please keep Olivia in your prayers!

WE SURVIVED OUR FIRST NIGHT

Our little bundles seem very happy to be back together again! Jack slept great with his sis snuggled up next to him. The kids are thrilled to have their babies home. Now I just have to figure out how to grow another arm.

Welcome Home Baby Jack!

After a long 3 weeks we are bringing home Jack. He has accomplished all of the intermediate care requirements like a pro!!! He likes eating so much, he has figured out how to eat in his sleep. We are still hoping and praying that Olivia will be home shortly She is a bit behind in eating. She would rather snuggle up and check out her surroundings than eat. Unfortunately, once Jack comes home he won't be able to go back to the hospital. This is going to make for some chaos until Little Miss comes home.

Coming Home Soon

Jack pulled out his feeding tube today and so far he has not needed it to be replaced. If he keeps up his feeding for one more day he will be coming home. Olivia is getting closer and closer. She is finally taking a bottle reluctantly. We are still hoping they will come home together...stay tuned...

Growing and Growing

The Twins are getting bigger and stronger every day. Olivia weighs just over 5 lbs and Jack weighs 5 1/2 lbs. They will probably be home from the hospital in the next week or two. They have to take all of their feedings by bottle or breast for 48 hours to come home. They were moved down to intermediate care last week so life in the NICU is a thing of the past. Intermediate care is a lot more family friendly and all of the babies there are what they call "growers and feeders"...basically they are all healthy and working on going home.
